News from the library, June/July 2022 (PN)

We’ll be having a special Jubilee Storytime on 28th May at 10am, with crafts and cakes for sale too (Bring cash!) Please note that the library will be closed on 2nd and 3rd June (Jubilee Bank Holidays) – but open on Saturday June 4th, with a storytime at 10am as usual.

We have Rhymetimes for the under-3s on the first and third Mondays of the month at 11 – 11.30am, run by volunteers. If you miss singing rhymes to your children/grandchildren, why not volunteer to do it at the library? (Ask the library manager for more information)

Also for children, we have storytimes every Saturday morning at 10am. Our June  special storytime will be on 18th, to celebrate Fathers’ Day on 19th. There will be a craft session after the storytime, aimed at 3 – 8 year olds, and home-made cakes will be on sale (Please bring cash!)

The theme of the Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge for children this year is Gadgeteers. It will be launched in mid-July, and there will be special story and craft sessions (and cake sales!) starting at 10am every Saturday morning in August.

For more details of these, or any other activities please contact the library by phone (0118 9722448) or email (

Or just come in and ask!
