Rotherfield Peppard Sports Pavilion Improvements

Local Residents required to join the Pavilion Improvements Committee

The Sports Pavilion has given the Parish, the Cricket Club and other community activities (such as Pilates and Art classes) great service over the last few decades.

However, the Pavilion is showing its age – the roof is now beginning to show signs of decay, as are the windows, the internal décor and quality of the sports team changing rooms.

The Parish Council has recently conducted two surveys. These have shown that (a) minor remedial work is required to remove very low-level asbestos and (b) the roof should be replaced, and (c) that there are other features that also need to be updated (eg extending changing rooms and improving wheelchair access).

The Parish Council has agreed to investigate the cost of these improvements. We will be forming a Pavilion Improvements Committee to assess the likely cost, and ensure that any alterations are in keeping with the beautiful surroundings and near environment. The Committee will comprise two Council members, two Cricket Club members and we would like to invite two further members of the Parish to join, making a total of six.

If you (or anyone you know living in the Parish) would be interested in joining the committee on a voluntary basis (as a reminder we are looking for two members) please contact our Parish Clerk Joanne Askin on clerk@rppc.org.uk.
