Murder Mystery Supper – “Tis the Season to be Jolly”
The evening is an interactive murder mystery where the audience are guests at a corporate function being held at the local ‘Garden Emporium’; and are party to the Machiavellian shenanigans that ensue. The supper is for one night only in the Peppard Memorial Hall, Gallowstree Road, Peppard Common, RG9 5JA. Doors open at 19.15 ready for a start at 19.45. At 14.30 we have the incredible magician Rod Type coming to the monthly tea party in Sonning Common Village Hall for an hour’s worth of magic. Kingwood Common Conservation Group
Working Party – Venue – Cherry Croft RG9 5NA
The Kingwood Common Conservation Group work parties run from 9:30 to 13:00, and volunteers are welcome for all or any part of that time. No special skills needed, just come with your boots, old clothes, workgloves (if you have them). Hand-tools and briefings will be provided, along with tea/coffee/biscuits at break-time. You’ll need to be aged 18 or over, reasonably fit, and have plenty of enthusiasm. We welcome men and women of all ages.  Where we meet depends on where we are working but an email is sent to all volunteers on the mailing list about a week before to let them know where we will be. Using some materials from our gardens and estate, and other unique decorations that are provided, create an individual wreath for your front door. All materials needed to create the wreath are provided and there is a maximum of 15 spaces per class, which means you get quite a bit of help one-to-one from the teacher of the class. Visit us at the hospice for our annual service as we take time out to remember friends and family as we approach the festive season. There will be readings, music and refreshments. “A Christmas Cornucopia”
This year’s event, featuring the Singers and three local young musicians, will be held in the Sonning Common Village Hall at 14.00 (doors open at 13.30). Christ the King Church, Sedgewell Road, Sonning Common is 50 years old!
To celebrate we are having a birthday tea party at 15.00 – 17.00 in the Church Hall.  Everyone is very welcome to tea and homemade cakes. There will not be a charge but donations towards the purchase of a specialised wheelchair for a young girl in Sonning Common will be much appreciated.

Seasonal Entertainment
Father Christmas will be making his annual visit to Wyfold RDA on Saturday 16th December between 12.00 and 15.00. There will be seasonal entertainment and a chance to ride on one of our very special horses. We shall have all our usual traditional Christmas stalls and games with our very popular Santa’s Grotto. To keep everyone warm we shall be serving hot dogs and soup for lunch. Don’t forget that this is an outdoor event which can be muddy in wet weather, so winter woollies are recommended, and festive hats are a must.

Should any unforeseen circumstances necessitate an amendment, a revised programme will be issued. Saleable donated goods are welcomed week days 09.00 – 16.30. We regret we are unable to accept goods on the day of a sale or the day before. Volunteers are always welcome to help sort and allocate donated goods and to assist with sales every day of the week.

South Chiltern Chorial Society

Christmas Concert
On Saturday 16 December at 19.30 and Sunday 17 December at 14.00, the South Chiltern Choral Society will be performing Bullard’s A Christmas Feast and other festive favourites together with The Hill Primary School choir, accompanied by a brass quintet, piano and percussion. The concerts will be held at Chiltern Edge School, Reades Lane, Sonning Common RG4 9LN. Refreshments will be served in the interval. A seasonal lunch is to be held on Christmas Day in the Sonning Common Village Hall at 12:30 for 13:00. We provide a full roast turkey lunch, with all the trimmings, Christmas pudding or trifle and crackers with the usual awful jokes! Later in the afternoon we have tea and mince pies and or Christmas cake. The hall will be decorated with lights and a Christmas tree.
