Peppard Lunch Club – Volunteers needed!

Have you a little time to spare, please? Our club hosts lunches for 25-40 people at Peppard War Memorial Hall on the third Wednesday of every month. It’s a really valuable village amenity, very friendly and the food is good BUT we need more help with cooking and serving. Our next lunches are on 20th March, 17th April and 15th May. Let Valerie Ross know if you can help on 01491 628677. She’s waiting for your call.

SONNING COMMON BEREAVEMENT GROUP

I am a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor and have a passion for working with bereaved families in my private practice to help them express themselves in a way in which they feel comfortable.

Having spent many hours talking to bereaved families, I have approached Sonning Common Health Centre so that we can initiate a Bereavement Group for anyone who feels they would like to share their feelings with people who have had similar experiences.

I will be the group facilitator, but it will be the group who decide what they want to talk about. In my experience, talking and sharing how you feel having been bereaved and asking questions about how others are feeling, is invaluable. The group will be a safe space to express emotions that you may not wish to express with family and friends. It may well help to meet other people in a similar position as you and help you to develop new ways of coping.

For some people, the thought of joining a group may seem daunting, but once you walk through the door and meet like-minded people it can be so worthwhile.

The meetings will be held approximately once a month.  The first meeting was held on Wednesday 28th November and will be followed by Wednesday 23rd January then Wednesday February 27th, Wednesday 27th March and Wednesday 17th April starting at 14.00 until 16.00 at the FISH Volunteer Centre in Kennylands Road. The only cost involved will be a contribution towards refreshments.

If you feel joining the group will be beneficial to you, please contact me by email – jill@dragonfliescounselling.co.uk

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor & expressway

Oxford-Cambridge growth corridor & expressway – How to get our voices heard?

The Chancellor has backed the National Infrastructure Commission’s concept of an Oxford to Cambridge ‘Growth Corridor’ of a million new houses, of which 300,000 would be in Oxfordshire. That would be equivalent to six new cities the size of Oxford; or to put it another way would more than double our present housing stock and population by 2050. Read more…..

Oxfordshire Housing and Expressway

Do you want 100,000 new houses and a new motorway in our Oxfordshire landscape?

Your District Councillors think you do

Our local authorities want to build 100,000 new homes in Oxfordshire by 2031 – there are currently 268,000. This represents a massive 40% increase. Read more…
